Lect. Âlâ Selam graduated from the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, Faculty of Arts, University of Aleppo in 2011. She pursued her graduate studies at the same university’s Higher Institute of Languages, earning her Master’s degree in Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers in 2014. Throughout her academic career, she has actively participated in numerous conferences, workshops, and professional training programs.

With a career in Arabic language instruction beginning during her undergraduate years, Selam has extensive experience teaching at various educational levels. Her professional background includes serving as a Lecturer in the Departments of Arabic Language Teaching and Arabic Translation at Istanbul Aydın University (2016–2019), followed by a tenure at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University (2019–2020). Additionally, she served as both a Lecturer and an administrator at the Imam Mālik International Academy between 2021 and 2023.

Since September 2025, she has been serving as a Lecturer in the Arabic Preparatory Program at the School of Foreign Languages, Istanbul 29 Mayıs University. Her professional expertise is further complemented by her work at the Kevseriyye Foundation and over a decade of experience in online Arabic instruction for international students. Her academic interests and professional expertise encompass Arabic linguistics, the development of pedagogical methodologies for non-native speakers, and the design of instructional programs for international learners.
