Prof. Halil İbrahim SAĞLAM completed his undergraduate education in the Division of Primary Education at Fatih Faculty of Education, Karadeniz Technical University. He received his master’s degree from the Division of Primary Education at the Institute of Educational Sciences, Marmara University, and his Ph.D. from the Division of Social Studies Education at the Institute of Social Sciences, Atatürk University.
He began his teaching career in Mardin in 1994 and continued to work as a teacher in İstanbul and Siirt until 1999. During this period, he also completed his military service as a reserve officer teacher. In 1999, he was appointed as a lecturer at Rize Faculty of Education, Karadeniz Technical University. In 2006, he joined Sakarya University Faculty of Education as a faculty member.
During his tenure at Sakarya University, he served as Vice Chair of the Department of Elementary Education, Chair of the Division of Primary Education, Vice Director of the Institute of Educational Sciences, Member of the Faculty Administrative Board, and Director of the Institute of Educational Sciences. He also served as the editor of Sakarya University Journal of Education.
In May 2018, he was appointed as a Professor in the Department of Primary Education at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, İstanbul Medeniyet University. During his time at İstanbul Medeniyet University, he held several administrative positions, including Chair of the Department of Primary Education, Chair of the Division of Primary Education, Member of the Faculty Administrative Board, Member of the Senate, Director of the Child Education and Science Application and Research Center, and Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences.
As of November 1, 2023, Prof. Sağlam has been serving as a faculty member in the Division of Primary Education, Department of Primary Education, Faculty of Education, İstanbul 29 Mayıs University. He is married and has three children. His national and international publications focus on social studies education, conscious consumerism, citizenship education, values education, family, and primary teacher education.
