Dr. Mehmet Akıncı completed his undergraduate degree in the Department of Foreign Language Education at Boğaziçi University in 2006. He earned his M.A. degree in English Language Education at Boğaziçi University in 2009. In his M.A. thesis, he examined the effectiveness of corpus consultation in teaching verb+noun collocations to first-year ELT learners. Dr. Akıncı completed his Ph.D. in English Language Education at Boğaziçi University in 2020. His work probed the effects of L2 experience on the enhancement of executive functions (EFs) and the predictive validity of EFs for L2 success from a domain-general perspective in a longitudinal pre-test/post-test design. Akıncı’s research interests lie in the field of psycholinguistics (cognitive effects of bilingualism, working memory, and attention control), research methodology, and language assessment. Akıncı currently works as an assistant professor in the Department of Foreign Language Education at İstanbul 29 Mayıs University.
