Mehtap Güven Çoban received her PhD in Foreign Language Education from Boğaziçi University. She completed her Master’s degree in Translation Studies at Okan University and her Bachelor’s degree in English Language Teaching at Marmara University. In addition to her academic career, she has many years of professional experience in foreign language education, translation, and academic administration.
She currently serves as Deputy Director of the School of Foreign Languages at İstanbul 29 Mayıs University, and simultaneously holds the positions of Director of the International Office and Erasmus+ Exchange Programs as well as Director of the Continuing Education Center. She is the founding director of the university’s English Preparatory Program and has previously undertaken both academic and administrative roles at various higher education institutions.
Her academic interests include foreign language education, translation studies and translation pedagogy, cognitive translation studies, quality assurance and accreditation in language education, AI-supported language and translation education, assessment and evaluation, and teacher education. She has national and international publications, authored and edited books, and has been involved in numerous academic projects.
