Text Analysis and Text Production: Strategies for Translation
The course focuses on analyzing various types of texts ranging from poetry to advertisement, from user manuals to academic articles. The course is concerned with creating awareness in students about the strategies for analyzing text with the purpose of translation. The students learn the importance of text analysis as a tool that can be applied to all phases of the translation process, including the analysis of the source text and the analysis of the target text in their relation within the source and the target systems and cultures.
